Meyer Freeman | Playful Pickleball Coach
I started Playful Pickleball to introduce people to one of the most joyful and welcoming sports ever created. Over the past three years, I’ve taught more than 200 people of all ages and athletic abilities to play pickleball. My coaching philosophy is to keep things fun and lighthearted. Each lesson is customized to your ability level and desired outcome – the goal is to help you find your comfort zone on the court. Once you learn the basics, we’ll play some practice points and then a warm-up game, so you can quickly experience the joy of pickleball!

I started playing pickleball after moving back to Astoria in 2020, when I found a talented and friendly group on the courts in Gearhart. Before I knew it, my doubles partner Richard Marshall and I were playing in the Dinko de Mayo tournament in Long Beach, where we earned the gold medal in the men’s 4.0 division. I am a member of the Pro Pickleball Registry, USA Pickleball’s coaching certification partner, and have completed its certification course – How to Introduce Pickleball.
